Privacy Policy

It’s not ours, it’s yours – how we use what we know about you.

We are the communications and advocacy headhunter. We recruit the people responsible for an organisation’s communications, reputation and influence. A sincere preoccupation with the people we work with, as well as the challenges they face, have been key to our growth.

As headhunters, we meet a lot of people who work in the communications and advocacy space. If you are one of them, hopefully, we have already helped you with your career, and if we haven’t, we’d love to meet you.

If you have registered with us or applied for a job via us we probably know you quite well. We may know your career history, your aspirations and goals, your contact details, and have a copy of your CV. Even if we have never met we may still have heard about you from mutual acquaintances, and know about you from your Company website, LinkedIn profile etc.

When you apply for a job via us, either by responding to an advertisement or when we contact you with an opportunity we think you would be perfect for, we will ask for your consent to guide you through the application process.

Any inquiries or requests submitted to this site through forms here are considered confidential. Email addresses and other contact details collected through this site may be used to update our internal databases for the purposes of maintaining and improving the delivery of our services and marketing activities but are not sold on to any third party. Recipients of emails from Ellwood Atfield may opt-out by reply or unsubscribe and every effort will be made to process the request before any further emails are sent.

We may ask you for, and collect, personal information, including when you subscribe to receive Ellwood Atfield marketing information and when you register as a candidate with us. We use the information you provide to help pair you with suitable job opportunities, networking events and for other purposes consistent with this policy.

Ellwood Atfield may use information derived from the site usage records, including cookie-based information, to help plan future improvements to its services and to promote usage, but again, does not sell such information to third parties.

Our web server logs collect the domain names and certain related data of visitors to our web sites automatically (such as their IP address or device identifier). This information is used to measure number of visits, average time spent on this website, pages viewed and website usage information. We use this information to meet legal or regulatory requirements; to measure the use of our sites; to improve the content of our sites; and to provide tailored experiences. We may collect this information using cookies, as explained below under the ‘Cookies’ section.

Sometimes our clients ask us to provide details of people we think might be interested in a job before we have spoken with the individuals themselves. When we do this, we always exercise our discretion (especially if we include people we have never met, and only know from their Company’s website, LinkedIn profile, etc.). We provide only the details that are necessary, (usually just name, job title and current employer), and check them against their Company’s website or LinkedIn profile. If you would prefer that we exclude you from any market searches and long lists like this, please let us know.

If you work for an organisation we have worked with, or maybe one we just want to work with, we may know about you even if we have never met. As headhunters it is our job to know about the communications and advocacy team in your organisation and the people responsible for it and how to contact them.  If you are one of them we would like to stay in touch, invite you to our events and share any insights we think you might find useful. If you don’t want us to contact you in this way, please let us know.

If you have any questions about how we use what we know about you or wish to exercise your rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the information we have about you, please email us at hello@ellwoodatfield.com. If you would like to know more about your rights under the Data Protection Law, see the Information Commissioners Office.

We love what we do, and are good at it.
