Housing policy is one of the most dynamic areas of policymaking with far-reaching consequences

Housing policy is one of the most dynamic areas of policymaking with far-reaching consequences, and we are seeking an Assistant Director to shape and direct our housing output. Over the past few years the BPF has successfully campaigned to introduce and support the Build to Rent sector and a part of this job will be to work on that agenda. More generally, our members are involved in a diverse range of housing activities, from developing major mixed use schemes, to managing complex estates, and promoting the interests of major investors in the private rented sector.

You will be an integral part of our policy team, and comfortable meeting the most senior industry figures, and  valued stakeholders, including civil servants from an array of different parts of Government. You will have an inquisitive mind, and be able to think strategically about how to protect and promote our sector through the various tools of campaigning, including working with research and communication colleagues, speaking at events and to the media, and engaging with parliamentarians. You will be conscious not only of how our sector supports wealth creation, but adds social value, and be passionate about our Redefining Real Estate campaign. You will also manage our policy internship programme.

We are looking for somebody exceptional who is able to produce and deliver campaign plans and provide excellent support to our two Directors of Policy.
