Leading global energy firm seeks Strategy & Sustainability Campaign Manager (internal comms)

Our client is a leading global energy firm with exciting ambitions to transform their environmental impact by 2050. They have announced a new sustainability frame encompassing net zero, environment and people aims. This has led to the creation of an exciting new Strategy & Sustainability Campaign Manager role, which will focus on building employee understanding of the corporate strategy and of the sustainability frame; external recognition of their progress in sustainability among key stakeholders and peers; and help support effective ethics, compliance and values communications internally. The role reports to the Corporate Affairs Director and sits as part of the strategy and sustainability team. 

Key responsibilities: 

Internal

  • Lead planning, insights and strategy for sustainability communications to the employee audience globally.
  • Implement central activities and support targeted communications programmes, working with leaders, specialists and other corporate communicators.
  • Work with internal communications partners to support a strong ethics & compliance culture via input to digital content, events and messaging.
  • Support internal communications within the Strategy & Sustainability team including maintaining an ongoing plan of townhalls and Yammer in order to improve key employee metrics such as engagement, strategy understanding.

External

  • Support business reputation for sustainability implementation, with external communications, events & LinkedIn, focusing on supporting senior leaders.
  • Lead internal and external communications around the sustainability report and other relevant corporate reports.

Requirements

  • Interested and engaged in the external environment around the business e.g ESG, environment NGOs, media.
  • Experience of leading communications planning and employee communications practice.
  • Passion for sustainability-related communications & advocacy.
  • A strategic thinker who can use insights and run processes to come to a solution.
  • Desire to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Tenacious and able to overcome and work around barriers
  • A-level or degree-level educated
  • Excellent written English
