The Opportunity

We are working with our client on an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to join their team. You will be an integral part of their award-winning team, growing their profile through mainstream and specialist press coverage, focusing on philanthropy and international work. They are looking for an individual who is people centred, innovative and passionate.

Main responsibilities

  • Concentrate on external communications for philanthropy and international pillars of the charity’s strategy
  • Act as the first point of contact for all queries to the charity’s press office, responding in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Lead on communications projects and strategy, overseeing delivering of research report launches, new programmes and products, case studies and events
  • Identify new opportunities for news coverage to showcase our client’s contribution to society in target media outlets
  • Build relevant relationships proactively with journalists to help develop their public profile and reputation. Additionally, securing key coverage with media outlets to highlight the breadth of work they have done, regularly in the media and trade press.

Key Skills Required

  • Experience working as a journalist, for a public relations agency or in a press-facing public relations role for a large organisation
  • Be a team player and be able to cooperate well within a team and uphold their values
  • Create and sustain strong relationships within the External Affairs team and with key stakeholders across the organisation, including colleagues across Marketing, Research, Philanthropy and International
  • Be able to use your media skills to liaise with press to secure regular coverage in mainstream media and trade press.
