Membership body for leading global investors in infrastructure to appoint a Communications Manager

The organisation

They aim to be seen by their corporate members as a value driven, proactive and progressive representative for their organisations.

As Communications Manager, you will work closely with the policy and public affairs team to ensure that communications and marketing activity is aligned and supports their advocacy and stakeholder engagement work. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, you will be responsible for managing and planning the delivery of media communications, owned channels (social media, website, podcast, and events) and member communications.

With line management responsibilities, this is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise to mentor and develop.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sector-leading, compelling content for their website, LinkedIn, and Twitter in line with the organisation’s mission and associated focal areas, in context of supporting the sustainable growth of the sector and its reputation as an industry voice.
  • Develop and manage a programme of events that enables sharing of insight and best practice, and offers networking opportunities, providing added value for members.
  • Drive increased value for members through high-quality communications, including member updates, surveys, board presentations and events, stimulating valued feedback, data and insight.
  • Develop and manage high quality member communication channels, providing news and insight on the organisation’s work, and delivering a continued growth in engagement.
  • Work closely with members to identify and address the reputational issues facing the sector.
  • Drafting and preparing speeches, articles and press releases and briefing the Chief Executive ahead of media interviews
  • Identify and build a network of prioritised media contacts and responding quickly to inbound press inquiries across digital and print platforms.
  • Drive effective media monitoring to build understanding of the sector for the organisation and their members.

Key skills required:

  • Experience of proactively planning and executing media relations activity
  • Proven experience in developing and managing website and social media channels, including use of content to drive audience engagement.
  • Proven ability to plan and produce high quality presentations and reports, website content, social media posts,  and other marketing materials.
  • Experienced in planning, curating  and delivering external events.
  • Experience in developing audio-visual content including video and podcasts.
