High-profile organisation in the FMCG sector seeks a Corporate Sustainability Manager

The Opportunity:
Our client, a high-profile organisation in the FMCG & Retail sector, is looking to recruit a Corporate Sustainability Manager to be the subject matter expert for sustainability across the business. As well as possessing a great technical understanding of key focus areas such as packaging, water consumption and emissions, the ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator who can influence and engage internal and external stakeholders to achieve the business’ key sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the senior leadership team, including the Head of External Affairs and Sustainability to implement the company’s Sustainability Strategy across GB&I
  • Translate complex data into digestible content to engage internal and external stakeholders and create a narrative for sustainability as part of the business strategy
  • Ensure all documentation and reporting is managed and tracked to comply with internal and external audit requirements relating to ESG matters
  • Ensure that their retailers are engaged and informed on sustainability issues and the business is positioned to support their sustainability agenda
  • Serve as subject matter expert on ESG matters, developing best practice for data reporting and information management and producing reports for key internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships: engage and influence actively with sector-relevant industry associations, membership bodies and stakeholder forums around the company’s sustainability strategy and actions.

Key Skills Required:

  • A technical understanding of ESG regulations and trends
  • Proven experience of influencing and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • An excellent communicator who can translate complex information and data into engaging content
  • Technical knowledge of key focus areas for sustainability, including packaging, water, and scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
  • Experience in the FMCG and/or retail sector is desirable.
