Common Seas is a social enterprise on a mission to quickly and significantly reduce the amount of plastic waste produced and stop it polluting our rivers and seas. Having established themselves as both a global thought leader and a highly practical actor in the plastic pollution space, they are now at an extremely exciting stage of growth and are looking to recruit a Head of Communications and Marketing to develop, coordinate and implement a powerful and creative communications strategy.

- A seasoned media and communications professional who can draw on their experience to help this small organisation grow and deliver impact
- A candidate capable of balancing big picture strategic thinking with effective and efficient tactical execution
- A creative and entrepretenurial outlook that knows how to get things done
- Proven experience in branding, marketing, strategic communications, behaviour change campaigns and delivering complex international projects
- Experience of managing communications projects on time and to budget
- Experience of managing and coordinating teams and agencies
- A personal passion for sustainability and social issues
Key skills and experience required
- Demonstrable experience of managing brands, content and campaigns
- Experience of development and overseeing implementation of marketing and comms strategies
- Experience of managing multiple projects and campaigns and responding to emerging priorities
- Demonstrable experience of working with external marketing and comms resources, including press and public relations
- Ability to keep a team up to speed on tasks and due dates
- A strong creative sense
- Confident in overseeing the design and production of content and campaigns
- Ability to work closely with leadership teams
- Natural storytelling and communications ability
- A strong commitment to Common Seas' core mission
