The opportunity:

The IAG Corporate Affairs team’s mission is to support the performance and transformation of the Group through positively influencing the external environment around the business.

The Head of Communications and Campaigns UK role is responsible for leading IAG efforts to communicate its financial performance, transformation, policy, and sustainability goals externally in the UK.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the IAG senior leadership in media and external event activities in the UK, including leading a contact programme, preparing briefing notes and talking points.
  • Lead strategy and delivery of media relations on behalf of IAG for UK-based business media; respond to UK press enquiries coming into IAG press office.
  • Play a key role in Group financial results, leading on UK financial communications materials, as well as developing and executing media and digital communications plans.
  • Lead proactive campaigns that positively influence the environment around IAG’s business and enhance IAG’s corporate reputation, working with colleagues across corporate affairs and sustainability.

Requirements include:

  • Seniority and authority to work directly with the IAG Management Committee including the CEO and CFO.
  • Skilled in developing communication strategies to build corporate reputation, particularly on sustainability, financial and regulatory issues.
  • Able to work with financial information and data to back up the corporate narrative.
  • A broad range of contacts in the UK national business media, at correspondent and business editor level.
  • Issues-management skills for identifying, tracking, and handling difficult media topics.
