The organisation

Radiocentre is the industry body for commercial radio, acting on behalf the nation’s foremost radio brands, from the biggest – including Heart, Capital, Magic, Kiss, LBC and Classic FM – to smaller, independent local groups as well as digital-only and specialist stations.

The opportunity

You will work in the Radiocentre Policy team in order to deliver on the public policy positions of commercial radio so that we can maximise the impact of Radiocentre’s work with a wide variety of stakeholders, from Government, politicians and regulators to advertisers and agencies.

Main responsibilities

  • Monitoring developments in policy areas that impact commercial radio broadcasters
  • Analysing and drafting consultation responses based on analysis of evidence and data
  • Producing high-quality written briefings and reports
  • Working on broader public affairs projects
  • Supporting Radiocentre engagement strategy with MPs, Peers and government officials.

Key skills and experience required

  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively with Government departments and regulatory authorities across a range of policy and regulatory issues
  • Developed understanding of media regulation and strong understanding of how the UK political system works and the legislative process
  • Significant experience of policy development and successful policy advocacy
  • Flexibility to adapt to a range of situations as well as ability to analyse, interpret and explain complex data
  • A love of radio and audio.
