Opportunity for an experienced PR specialist with a purpose-led pensions provider

The opportunity
Our client is a sustainable and responsible pension provider which believes that positive investment outcomes and investing for a better world go together.  They are looking for a highly experienced corporate communicator to provide maternity cover for 12 months, starting asap.  In this role you will be responsible for external communications, protecting and developing the organisation’s reputation and leading the PR and Campaigns Team. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the Press and Media spokesperson for the organisation in particular championing its purpose-led campaigns
  • Produce and deliver an annual media plan managing all media enquiries, proactive and reactive commentary along with active crisis management
  • Design and deliver a programme of external events and campaigns to support the business objectives, campaigns and wider business goals
  • Manage PR, social media and marketing agencies to deliver the annual PR & Campaign plan
  • Line manage a PR & Campaigns Manager and Social Media Manager.

Key skills and experience required

  • Extensive experience of working at a senior level in PR, media, campaigns and issues management
  • People leadership, having successfully managed a high performing team.
  • Brand management, having managed the profile and reputation of a significant business or brand
  • Well established media profile, network and relationships with key industry and media figures and ability to build and grow this
  • Knowledge of the pensions sector or wider financial services experience.
