The organisation
Our client, a leading charitable trust in the health sector, is looking to hire an interim Marketing and Communications professional to join their team on an 18 month fixed term contract. The organisation has embarked on a mission to provide support to patients and families as well as raising awareness of the work that can be done to help improve patient lifestyles.
 
The opportunity
Reporting to the Head of External Affairs and also the Chief Executive, the Interim Marketing and Communications Manager will manage a small team to achieve the goals of the organisation. This opportunity will provide you with the chance to assist in the implementation of the second phase of a key organisational campaign raising awareness of the organisations key aims. You will create and implemented communication strategies to increase brand awareness across a variety of channels.
 
Main responsibilities

  • Create and implement plans to raise awareness of the organisations key campaign
  • Work closely with the PR Manager to increase organisational outputs across social media channels
  • Ensure a working relationship is maintained with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with patient groups to collate stories and testimonies to be used by the organisation across external channels
  • Alongside the PR Manager you will review the organisations social media strategy to improve social media engagement
  • Ensure a clear and consistent message is promoted across all organisational channels
  • Ensure a working relationship is maintained with internal and external stakeholders
  • Successfully manage your team to ensure organisational goals are achieved
  • Create content for digital channels including social media channels and the website
  • Maintain and develop relationships with members of the media

 
Key skills and experience required

  • Line management experience – managing junior members of staff
  • Experience of working in a charity
  • A strong understanding of integrated communications campaigns
  • The ability to successfully manage internal stakeholders
  • Understanding of issues relating to the health sector
  • A strong understanding of digital channels
