The opportunity
Ellwood Atfield is delighted to share a great fixed term opportunity to work with the leading nature coalition in the UK. The organisation brings organisation's together to support the conservation of nature across the UK. They have over 70 member organisations who support over eight million people in the UK and directly protect over 750,000 hectares of land and 800 miles of coastline.
Our client is looking for a Media and Campaigns Manager who will be managing reactive news enquiries and delivering on a new project with a focus on environment preservation and sustainability.
Main responsibilities
- Deliver on exciting new project with a focus on their sustainability and nature preservation campaign you will be planning and delivery in key areas with this campaign to reverse nature’s decline by 2030: land, sea and freshwater
- Develop strong relationships with journalist on a local and national level
- Assist the media relations team – helping the press office and handling reactive media enquiries
- Lead in developing and placing compelling media stories
- Support the growth of our client’s social media presence and assist with creating content for the benefit of our members.
Key skills and experience required
- Experience working in a fast-paced press team
- Experience dealing with relevant national press and social media
- Confidence in building strong relationship and networks in national political/ environmental or other relevant media
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
