Exciting high-profile communications opportunity with ENA

The Organisation

We are delighted to be partnering with Energy Networks Association (ENA) to hire a Programmes Communication Manager on a 12-month contract. ENA is the voice of the networks, representing the companies that run and maintain the electricity network in the UK and Ireland.

The Opportunity
Reporting into the Director of External Affairs and working closely with the Public Affairs Manager and Media and Digital Communications Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with ENA’s members and programme teams to develop and deliver communications strategies.

You will be tasked with developing strategies to engage and inform customers, businesses, politicians, industry bodies and other interested parties about ENA’s work. This includes using a range of communications tools like running events, using digital channels and the media, as well as facilitating briefings and producing written materials.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage communications and engagement plans to support the delivery of ENA’s energy systems programme of work, working closely with colleagues and members to identify opportunities for promotion and engagement.
  • Produce written reports, briefings, articles, presentations, speeches, and other communication material to a high standard. Translating complex concepts and technical information into materials which are accessible for their audiences.
  • Support and manage external forums and events, including preparing and coordinating speakers, ensuring maximise attendance, and coordinating content and logistics.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • At least three years in a stakeholder engagement or communications role or related discipline.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, networking and influencing skills, with experience developing and delivering successful stakeholder engagement plans, alongside working across all organisational levels including with senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to make the complex simple- a confident and persuasive communicator.
