Excellent opportunity to join a leading Membership Body as their Public Affairs Officer!

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Officer to join a leading Trade Body!

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the team in their public affairs activity on priority issues, including owning the forward look grid of activity and stakeholder lists
  • Coordinating relevant event planning activities, including administrative support as required to support the various expert member groups and committees
  • Representing the sector at relevant external stakeholder meetings, from All-Party Parliamentary Groups to our annual dinner
  • Working closely with body members to gather information and case studies to showcase the sector’s commitment to environmental leadership 
  • Identify opportunities to grow and expand your own political network in order to gather intelligence on issues relavant to the body.

Main Responsbilities:

  • Preparing reports, meeting papers and assisting with consultation responses
  • Attending meetings (including with external stakeholders), taking and circulating minutes/meeting notes as appropriate
  • Disseminating information to local authorities, police, regional Mayors, MPs, MSs and government departments as required
  • Monitoring parliamentary proceedings and maintaining a forward planner to identify parliamentary opportunities for influencing
  • Managing stakeholder lists including updating constituency data and using these to identify priority stakeholders relevant to different topical issues
  • Helping to develop social media asset and collateral from a Public Affairs  perspective.

  • A collaborative team player
  • Confident in building and maintaining effective relationships with members and external stakeholders
