The Opportunity

About the organisation:

Ellwood Atfield is delighted to partner with Hampshire Care Association (HCA), a membership body representing adult social care providers across Hampshire, Southampton, and Portsmouth.

HCA represents a diverse community of care providers, including residential, nursing, home care, and supported living services, working to strengthen the sector through advocacy, support, and collaboration. Their mission is to connect, champion, and empower care providers to deliver high-quality, sustainable care across local communities.

The opportunity:

Hampshire Care Association (HCA) is recruiting a proactive, dynamic and people-focused Membership Manager to lead on growth, engagement, and member services development. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in strengthening HCA’s network of care providers and is ideal for someone who thrives on building connections, driving membership growth, and delivering value to members. Working with the CEO, you’ll shape and implement initiatives that attract new members, strengthen retention, and reinforce the association’s role as a leading voice for care providers in the region.

Main responsibilities:

  • Drive HCA’s membership growth through proactive sales activities, attracting new members, promoting services, and identifying opportunities for engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with members while responding to queries and monitoring satisfaction.
  • Deliver initiatives to boost member loyalty, retention, and overall engagement.
  • Plan, organise, and deliver member meetings, networks, and events, managing logistics and follow-ups.
  • Manage member communications, including newsletters, website and social media updates, and engagement reporting.
  • Support the CEO with administration, manage action trackers, and capture follow-up actions from member interactions to inform service planning.

Person specification:

  • Proven experience in membership management, customer service, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organisational and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CRM/database.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel occasionally across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
