Nicola is a board director of Ellwood Atfield and has extensive experience in appointing communicators with significant exposure to government. Nicola is part of our Leadership Practice, a full service team of headhunters for senior positions within organisations seeking to influence their environment.

A former communications professional, she specialised in public affairs and public relations, working both in-house and latterly for the communications consultancy MHP Communications. She holds a BA Hons in Politics from the University of York and a Diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Relations. She stood in the 2010 General Election as a Parliamentary candidate in Sheffield Hallam and is an elected Governor of King’s College Hospital Trust.

At Ellwood Atfield, Nicola’s principal focus is recruiting Directors of Communications and Public Affairs within Financial Services.

She is also the Chair of the Women in Communications Careers Network – a networking group for senior women in comms.
