The Opportunity

About the organisation:

Our client is a well-established professional membership body for the finance profession, providing member services to individuals and employers across the UK and internationally. It works closely with a national network of Authorised Training Employers to develop the next generation of professionals entering the sector.

The opportunity:

This is a senior, high-profile leadership role at the heart of our client’s commercial growth agenda. As Head of Business Development, you will lead a UK-wide team of Business Development Managers, translating strategic priorities into sustainable revenue and relationship growth, with visibility and influence at the most senior levels of the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Setting and delivering the Business Development strategy and sales targets for learning products across the Authorised Training Employer portfolio
  • Leading and coaching a UK-wide team of four Business Development Managers, setting clear KPIs and supporting pipeline development
  • Building and maintaining senior relationships with key Authorised Training Employers, acting as an escalation point for strategic accounts
  • Identifying new business development opportunities and growth segments through market insight, performance data and client intelligence
  • Working strategically with regional teams, product, marketing and hubs to ensure learning products meet current and future employer needs
  • Owning and reporting on sales pipeline, forecasting and revenue performance, providing insight and recommendations to support delivery of growth targets
  • Representing the organisation externally with senior stakeholder audiences, including CFOs, government and C-suite contacts

Key skills and experience required:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales/business development leadership, ideally within learning, training or professional development
  • Experience managing and developing a remote, geographically dispersed sales team
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience owning revenue targets and pipeline reporting
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, given the extensive UK-wide travel this role involves
