Head of Internal Communications
The Opportunity
We are working with a dynamic and growing transport company with operations across the UK and Ireland to find their first Head of Internal Communications. In this role you will act as a strategic partner to the Heads of the business units to develop and implement internal communication strategies, set standards and implement best practice in internal communications across the business.
This vital role will drive activity to deliver employee engagement and is central to embedding the company’s values into their ways of working.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication plans to support delivery of the People and Safety Strategies, key major investment programmes, companywide engagement activities, and business strategy across all business units.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align internal communications with business objectives.
- Manage internal communication channels effectively, both directly and through providing and embedding best practice models and guidance for use throughout the business.
- Guide teams through organisational change.
- Plan and deliver engagement activities that strengthen team cohesion, morale and build employee engagement.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in corporate and internal communications, some of which must have been at a senior level.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering communication strategies that support the business, protect reputation and drive employee engagement.
- Proven track record of delivering change programmes.
- Excellent influencing, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work collaboratively and sustain effective working relationships with diverse colleagues and partners.
