The Opportunity

Are you a well-connected public affairs or communications professional interested in using your knowledge, networking and influencing skills to pivot into the world of executive search?
Ellwood Atfield has been established for almost 25 years and has an unrivalled track record in public affairs, policy and communications recruitment. We partner with organisations across the corporate, government, not-for-profit and membership sectors, working with everyone from global banks, pharmaceutical companies and energy providers to Government regulators, charities, consultancies and trade associations.
We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded individual to join our specialist team, identifying and appointing outstanding professionals across policy, public affairs and communications. With several former public affairs and PR professionals in our team, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience gained in-house or within a public affairs or communications consultancy, who understands the sector, enjoys building relationships and is curious about the people behind successful organisations. Alongside recruitment, you'll help deliver our industry-leading events and thought leadership programme, including market insight reports, the Annual Political Cartoon Awards and the Communications Director's Network.
You'll bring:
- Experience in public affairs, corporate affairs, communications or a related consultancy.
- A strong network across the communications, policy or public affairs profession.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in executive search.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Curiosity, confidence and the ability to engage with senior clients and candidates.
What you'll do:
- Identify and engage exceptional communications, policy and public affairs talent.
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives and client organisations.
- Conduct market mapping and support executive search assignments.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic hiring advice.
- Contribute to business development and help grow our business.
