About the organisation:

Our client is a UK-wide regulator in the health and care sector, with an External Affairs team that keeps it connected and influential across health and care and in Parliament.

The opportunity:

‍

A chance to help shape how a national regulator is heard by government, Parliament and the health and care sector, leading key relationships and coordinating public affairs activity.

‍

‍

Main responsibilities:

‍

  • Support the Head of External Affairs to deliver the public affairs strategy.
  • Lead relationships with parliamentarians, government and health and care organisations across the UK.
  • Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement plans based on audience insight and political context.
  • Draft persuasive correspondence, briefings and submissions for senior colleagues.
  • Run horizon scanning, providing timely analysis of political and sector developments.
  • Plan and deliver stakeholder meetings, visits and events, representing the organisation externally.
  • Advise senior colleagues on engagement and evaluate the impact of public affairs activity.

Key skills and experience required:

‍

  • Experience in public affairs, stakeholder engagement or a related field.
  • Experience of building productive relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Experience of providing high-quality advice and briefings to senior leaders.
  • Strong knowledge of UK politics and health and care, including devolved administrations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including persuasive stakeholder materials.
  • Able to manage projects and stakeholder programmes, balancing competing priorities.
