Our client, a leading global technology company, seeks a Senior Government Relations Manager to join its small and highly effective UK public affairs team. You will work alongside senior leaders in the business to analyse and understand Government policies and maintain the organisation’s great reputation with politicians and other senior stakeholders. This role will support business objectives by helping to position the company as a trusted advisor to Government and policy-makers across a broad range of issues.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Government Relations programme, engaging with key political and industry influencers.
- Analyse Government policies and their potential impacts, providing constructive alternatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with Government, trade associations, and other senior stakeholders.
- Provide clear and concise briefings on policy developments and their implications.
- Coordinate internal communication on political monitoring and reporting.
Key Skills and Experience
- In-depth understanding of the UK political process and policy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Experience in managing Government Affairs programmes in a large commercial organisation or public affairs agency.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to navigate multicultural environments.
- Experience of working in technology, telecoms or digital policy is highly desirable.
