The Risk To Business From External Campaigns

Invitation to breakfast round-table event.

Campaigner and business- how can each influence the other?

Last year we ran a breakfast round-table looking at planning for political risk – you can view the blog here. There was clearly an appetite for taking the discussion further, and we wanted to look specifically at the risk to businesses from external campaigns and how these can be addressed to the satisfaction of both parties.

We are delighted to bring together leaders from the campaigning and business worlds to discuss their perspectives and help to identify the best routes for engagement. We are hosting a round table breakfast with David Babbs, and Barry Neville.

David is the Executive Director of 38 Degrees the largest grassroots campaign organisation in the UK. He will discuss how it decides on a campaign, the methods that has most appeal to their members and how they believe companies should be approaching their work to be sustainable.

Barry has vast experience within companies ensuring that they are aware and able to respond to outside threats, gained from his roles at Centrica, SABMiller and HSBC. He will look at the methods successful businesses use to assess internal and external risks, the approaches used to develop a consensus for action internally and how to engage with campaigners for mutual benefit.

The breakfast will take place on Thursday 22 February 2018 at the ellwood atfield gallery, 34 Smith Square, Westminster, SW1P 3HL – map.
