Our client, a communications agency, is seeking to appoint an Account Director to join its London team. Founded by experienced leaders from top global firms, the agency was built to combine big-brand thinking with a more agile, creative and collaborative environment. The Opportunity
This role provides the opportunity to lead major client accounts from day one, working with some of the UK’s most recognisable consumer brands on corporate communications, reputation strategy and issues management. The successful candidate will have proven experience advising large businesses on communications challenges, particularly in the areas of corporate positioning, stakeholder engagement and crisis response.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the agency, including the head of the team, giving you access to experienced mentors and accelerating your path to a future leadership role. This is a fast-paced, sociable and collaborative environment that rewards initiative, creativity and ambition.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of major accounts, delivering strategic advice and high-quality execution across corporate and reputation work.
- Develop and deliver integrated communications strategies that combine corporate narrative, executive profiling, brand purpose and issues preparedness.
- Manage sensitive client situations including high-stakes media or regulatory issues, providing calm, clear and confident counsel.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members, ensuring strong collaboration and high standards of delivery across your accounts.
- Contribute to business development through research, pitch work and building relationships with prospective clients.
- Collaborate closely with senior agency leadership on client direction and wider team initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant experience in corporate communications, ideally including work on reputation management and crisis/issues for major consumer brands.
- Agency experience essential.
- Strong understanding of the media and stakeholder landscape, with experience working in or alongside large businesses, agencies or consultancies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver strategic insight clearly and persuasively.
- A proactive, solutions-led mindset and the ability to manage multiple client workstreams with confidence and clarity.
- The ambition to grow into a senior leadership role and the appetite to learn directly from experienced agency leaders.
- A collaborative, positive approach with a strong interest in working in a dynamic, high-energy agency environment.
