Our client, an integrated public affairs and communications agency, is seeking to appoint a Senior Account Manager or Account Director to join its Health practice.  This agency has deep roots in med tech and medical devices, and is now entering an exciting phase of growth in pharma. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a growing specialist team while leveraging the broader resources of a leading communications group.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to lead on high-profile accounts across the health and life sciences sector with a focus on UK public affairs and policy as part of a growing pharma specialism. The successful candidate will play a central role in driving the agency’s expanding pharmaceutical offer, supporting everything from APPG engagement and policy development to integrated digital campaigns and senior stakeholder work.

You’ll work closely with the pharma lead and wider senior team, with real autonomy to shape strategy, develop client relationships, and help steer the next phase of agency growth. For the right candidate, this is a fast-moving environment where you’ll be trusted to deliver from day one.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage accounts across the healthcare portfolio, with a focus on pharma, medtech and life sciences clients.
  • Provide strategic counsel on UK public affairs, stakeholder engagement and corporate reputation, including coalition work and parliamentary engagement.
  • Work closely with the pharma lead to grow the agency’s pharma offer, helping to win and deliver integrated communications campaigns.
  • Develop high-quality written materials including policy briefings, thought leadership, stakeholder plans and digital content.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, Parliamentarians, NHS stakeholders and other decision-makers.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues while contributing to team culture and wider agency development.
  • Collaborate with specialists from across the wider group, including comms, digital and policy experts.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Significant experience in healthcare public affairs, either agency or in-house.
  • Strong understanding of UK health policy, parliamentary processes, and the wider political landscape.
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical clients is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client workstreams, deliver high-quality output, and build senior-level relationships.
  • A confident self-starter who can hit the ground running, take initiative, and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Interest in integrated communications and a desire to shape a growing and ambitious specialist offer.
