Our client, a values-led independent healthcare communications and public affairs agency, is seeking to appoint a Director to lead its expanding consumer health and retail brand portfolio. With a reputation for long-standing client relationships and a progressive, people-first culture, this agency brings sharp strategic thinking and creativity to work that drives real-world impact.

As a senior leader in the business, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of dynamic, high-profile consumer brands, with the opportunity to shape category-defining campaigns that sit at the inter section of health, wellness, and retail. This is a role for someone who thrives on delivering culturally relevant, insight-driven work — blending brand story telling with health expertise to create campaigns that truly resonate.

You will play a key part in  influencing agency direction, and play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of a growing, independent business.

The Opportunity

This is a standout opportunity for a senior communications leader with deep experience in consumer health, retail, or wellness brands. You’ll bring a proven track record of delivering integrated campaigns that drive awareness, behaviour change, and commercial impact — all while leading and growing a high-performing team. The successful candidate will:

  • Own and lead a portfolio of major consumer health and retail clients.
  • Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, translating insight into high-impact brand communications.
  • Sit on the agency’s senior leadership team, helping drive growth and shape business strategy.
  • Lead high-profile creative campaigns spanning PR, social, influencer, digital, and partnerships.
  • Play a key role in agency reputation, business development, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a portfolio of consumer health, wellness, and retail-focused clients.
  • Develop and deliver integrated, insight-driven communications strategies that span earned, owned, and paid channels.
  • Provide senior-level strategic counsel to clients, with a focus on brand positioning, consumer engagement, and measurable outcomes.
  • Inspire, mentor, and manage high-performing teams while fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Play a senior role in new business — identifying opportunities, leading pitch teams, and representing the agency externally.
  • Collaborate with peers across the agency’s leadership team to help shape strategic direction and agency operations.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience leading consumer PR and communications campaigns, ideally within health, wellness, FMCG, or retail.
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, consumer behaviour, and     cultural trends — with a passion for delivering work that cuts through.
  • Proven success in managing senior client relationships and delivering integrated, creative campaigns.
  • Strong leadership credentials, with experience managing teams and nurturing talent.
  • Commercially astute with a track record of contributing to agency growth and profitability.
  • Energetic, collaborative, and values-driven — with a desire to shape the future of consumer health communications.
