The Organisation

Our client is an agile, entrepreneurial public affairs consultancy known for its sharp commercial focus and flexible approach to work. With a growing portfolio and a team that thrives on autonomy, they offer an environment that is genuinely modern: remote-first, part-time-friendly, and outcome-driven.

This is a team built on trust, pace, and commercial instinct, delivering political and reputational impact for clients. As they enter their next phase of growth, they’re looking to bring in someone at Associate Director or Director level with a focus on new business generation and market expansion.

Whether you're looking for part-time, remote, or non-traditional working patterns, this role is designed for flexibility. This role is ideal for someone who wants to go somewhere that champions your personal interests and other responsibilities you may have outside of work. What matters is what you deliver: new clients, new revenue, and commercial momentum.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee public affairs activity and strategy as a senior leader.
  • Lead on cold outreach and new business generation across priority sectors.
  • Build and convert a pipeline of commercial opportunities, from first contact through to pitch and onboarding.
  • Develop high-impact pitch materials, proposals, and commercial strategies.
  • Identify market trends and proactively shape new service offerings and positioning.
  • Represent the agency externally: networking, speaking, and building visibility in target markets.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in UK public affairs.
  • Proven success in cold lead generation and business development ideally in a consultancy setting OR if from an in-house background, can demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills and desire to drive growth.
  • Strong commercial instincts and confidence in closing deals and winning work.
  • A well-developed network across one or more relevant sectors.
  • Resilience in a competitive landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in proposal and pitch development.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and flexibly.

Benefits

  • Full flexibility: remote-first, part-time and non-linear working options.
  • Transparent bonus structures tied to commercial performance.
  • EMI scheme options.
