The Opportunity

About:

Our client is a highly respected advisory firm with a global presence.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded senior advisor to join a specialist team providing senior counsel across the healthcare and policy landscape. This confidential appointment requires a proven leader with deep subject matter expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and a strong grasp of public affairs and policy within highly regulated environments.

This role is ideal for a talented senior professional at Director or Senior Director level with a specialism in healthcare who is ready to step into a more senior role, or an already established Managing Director who wants to pivot to a firm in a strong position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead client programmes across the healthcare sectors, including support for pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organisations.
  • Provide strategic advice on public affairs, health policy, and integrated communications, with a focus on reputational strategy, stakeholder engagement, and market-shaping campaigns.
  • Oversee complex mandates involving regulatory milestones, health technology assessments (HTA), market access, and policy positioning.
  • Manage issues and crisis communications in sensitive and highly scrutinised areas, including product safety, access disputes, and corporate reputation challenges.
  • Collaborate with international teams to deliver multi-jurisdictional strategies, including UK, EU, and global initiatives.
  • Oversee a team of around 20 specialists.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in healthcare, within an agency or consultancy setting.
  • Strong background in public affairs, government relations, or policy communications, particularly in UK/EU healthcare contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder programmes with both technical understanding and strategic oversight.
  • Exceptional communication, advisory, and client management skills, with the ability to operate at senior executive level.
  • Deep understanding of reputational dynamics in highly regulated and politically sensitive markets.
