Ellwood Atfield are proud to be working with a well-known health regulator who are responsible for maintaining the wellbeing of patients by upholding trust and professional standards. Our client looking for a Policy Manager to oversee policy work across education and registration standards.  

The Opportunity

As a Policy Manager you will be responsible for managing policy work across registration, education and statutory standards with an emphasis on international routes to registration.

You will regularly keep up to date with international regulatory developments to identify risks and opportunities for the regulator. You will also undertake research and to ensure policy proposals are evidence-based whilst building consensus with NHS bodies, Universities and other regulators to agree on appropriate standards.

Main responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor developments relating to regulatory policy whilst reporting any legislative developments which could impact the organisation to colleagues.
  • Create and implement international education and training policies which enable health professionals to meet robust standards consistently.
  • Ensuring policy proposals are measurable and are being properly enforced.
  • Commission research which ensures policy proposals are supported by compelling evidence.
  • Working autonomously at pace to produce high quality policy reports, briefings and other relevant papers.
  • Representing the regulator in external meetings with other regulators, NHS bodies and Universities to build consensus around regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with Customer Services colleagues to ensure registration policy, training and education policy are aligned.

Key skills and experience required

  • Extensive experience in developing and implement policy within a regulatory environment.
  • Ability to work at pace both independently and across teams whilst managing end to end projects.
  • Able to build strong stakeholder ties and effectively communicate information both verbally and in written form.
  • Strong knowledge of policy relating to education and training standards.
