Our client

Energy UK is the trade association for the energy industry, representing organisations from start-ups to major suppliers and generators. Our members are driving change across power, heat, transport and flexibility. We work closely with government, regulators and other stakeholders to shape policy, provide solutions and promote best practice across the sector.

The opportunity

Energy UK is looking for a Press Officer(digital lead) to strengthen its busy press team. This role blends digital creativity with delivery. You’ll lead social media activity, curate content and newsletters, and help bring complex industry issues to life. Alongside that, you’ll support press office work and develop the skills that make for effective media engagement. They’re looking for someone curious, organised and ready to learn, equally confident drafting a punchy social media post, producing the weekly newsletter, and working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving press office.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead on Energy UK’s social media campaigns and content across LinkedIn, Bluesky, and more.
  • Curate and publish Energy UK’s weekly newsletter via Mailchimp.
  • Deliver digital content on time, balancing creativity with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support media relations: respond to enquiries, draft press releases and generate story ideas.
  • Work closely with colleagues across policy and communications to translate complex issues for a wider audience.

Key skills and experience required

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a press office or similar fast-paced media environment.
  • Proven ability to create, plan and schedule digital content across multiple platforms.
  • Organised, able to work to tight deadlines and balance a varied workload.
  • Interest in the energy sector and willingness to learn about industry issues.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
