The opportunity:

The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the growth and visibility of The Vegan Society’s academic and consumer research activities. You will support on consumer and academic research projects, engage with authors from their Researcher Network and Research Advisory Committee to ensure the timely delivery of academic articles and blogs, and coordinate content for the research section of their website.

This role is ideal for someone with excellent writing and research skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong interest in the role of research in social and behavioural change, especially within the vegan movement.  

Main responsibilities:

  • Engage with members of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and Researcher Network(RN), and support on initiatives to grow and strengthen the community of vegan academics
  • Assist in delivering research using methods such as literature reviews, desk-based analysis, survey design, and data interpretation
  • Manage content on the research section of The Vegan Society website, such as their Research News blog
  • Organise webinars and research events, including coordinating speakers, event logistics and promotion
  • Identify emerging research, trends, and academic activity relevant to veganism

Key skills and experience required:

  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong theoretical understanding of research methods
  • Analytical and critically reflective
  • Skilled in written communication with an attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain relationships with external stakeholders
