Our client, a leading strategic advisory firm, is seeking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its Financial Services practice, based in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with UK and international clients—particularly in banking and insurance—on a wide range of political, policy, and regulatory issues affecting the financial services sector.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience in public policy related to financial services, ideally gained in government, a regulatory authority, consultancy, or a financial institution. You’ll join a specialist team helping clients navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes, with opportunities to build deep sectoral knowledge and shape meaningful engagements with public and private stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Track, analyse and advise on political, policy and regulatory developments in the UK and internationally, with a focus on retail financial services (e.g. banking, insurance, consumer finance).
- Identify and prioritise key UK stakeholders across government, Parliament, and regulators, providing strategic and tactical advice on stakeholder engagement.
- Develop compelling policy positioning and thought leadership for clients, including briefing notes, reports, consultation responses, and public-facing commentary.
- Contribute to and lead client engagements, supporting the delivery of advisory work and helping manage client relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues working across related policy areas, including technology, data, ESG, and international regulatory trends.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience working in or with UK government, Parliament, a financial regulator (e.g. FCA, PRA), financial institution, or relevant trade body.
- Strong understanding of UK political and regulatory processes relevant to financial services. Experience in EU financial policy is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with consumer financial services policy, such as banking, insurance, and financial inclusion, is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality policy analysis.
- Experience engaging effectively with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to grow your expertise and leadership in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
