Senior Digital Creative Designer
The Opportunity
The opportunity:
Ellwood Atfield has partnered with a charity based in London to recruit a Senior Digital Creative Designer to join the Group Brand and Marketing team. This role is a great opportunity to join a mission-driven and collaborative team to create accessible and inclusive digital content.
Main responsibilities:
- Produce visually compelling and user-friendly digital and non-digital content, ensuring consistent and seamless experience across all platforms and devices.
- Ensure all design outputs comply with accessibility requirements (particularly WCAG 2.1),to deliver inclusive solutions for users with disabilities.
- Advocate for a user-centric approach by conducting research and integrating findings to design, focusing on clarity, simplicity, and inclusivity.
- Work alongside developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to embed accessibility considerations into each phase of the design lifecycle.
- Support the development and upkeep of design systems that promote visual consistency and accessibility across all elements, including colour palettes, typography, icons and interactive components.
- Evolve and maintain the charity's visual identity, ensuring that all creative outputs align with brand values.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools and methods in digital design, sharing knowledge and inspiration with the team to support continuous improvement.
Key skills and experience required:
- Extensive experience in commercial design environment, with a strong portfolio that showcases creative work, digital design specialism and accessible solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Figma, Sketch, or similar.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, ADA, Section 508) and experience designing for users with diverse abilities.
- Proven experience designing across web, mobile, and application interfaces.
- Familiar with HTML/CSS and a solid understanding of how design components translate into front-end development is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
