The Opportunity

The opportunity:

Our client, an independent parliamentary body, is seeking a Senior Digital Designer to join their well-established Design and Publishing team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and best practice in digital design and play a key part in advancing their digital design ambitions.

The role primarily focuses on the creative design and production of video and animation, while also contributing to a wide range of digital content such as infographics, PowerPoint presentations, social media assets, and publications across both laid and non-laid outputs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Produce videos and animations to promote the organisation's work and messaging.
  • Create medium-to-high complexity infographics and diagrams for publications, ensuring clarity and visual impact.
  • Design branded PowerPoint slide templates and presentation decks for internal and external use, enabling colleagues to access high-quality, on-brand digital assets for their use.
  • Workshop ideas and concepts with colleagues to create engaging static and animated assets for social media, aligned with the publications communications scoring system.
  • Design a range of interactive and non-interactive publications across digital and print outputs for Insights, Corporate, internal and other non-laid work.
  • Prepare final, graphical files in formats such as ePub and PDF for publication across digital platforms and print, meeting accessibility and quality standards.
  • Support during video shoots, including interviews and talking heads, working closely with external communications colleagues. Advising on visual elements such as lighting, framing, and backgrounds.
  • Manage client relationships, maintaining strong communication and determine appropriate format and graphical representation from briefs.
  • Provide training, support and constructive feedback to Design and Publishing team colleagues.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, with experience in audio editing(Audition/Rush), video pre-production, and direction.
  • Experienced in creating clear, impactful infographics and data visuals using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced in Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat with experience in interactive and accessible publication design.
  • Strong understanding of typographic principles and template creation for consistent, brand-aligned content creation through HTML/XML plus WordPress is a bonus.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint to create high-quality presentations, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel for document and data handling.
  • Knowledgeable in accessibility standards and techniques for creating inclusive, user-friendly digital content.
