Senior (Regional) Policy and Influencing Officer
The Opportunity
The organisation:
Ellwood Atfield has partnered with a leading Health charity to recruit for a new Senior (Regional) Policy and Influencing Officer. This role is a 3year fixed-term contract.
The opportunity:
This key role involves leading the development and delivery of influencing work on a national and regional level. It is a brand-new position within a growing team, enabling them to deliver their impactful work for those that they work to support. You’ll maintain knowledge of relevant services and care on a regional level in England, informing policy, building stakeholder relationships, and influencing change. Topics could include treatment waiting times and screening.
Main responsibilities:
- Developing policy/influencing materials – eg. briefings, documents, letters, and messaging.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of relevant issues, the surrounding political environment and regional implications of these
- Analysing information on key issues, working with the Senior Insight Analyst to understand and use this data
- Monitoring and horizon scanning for opportunities to influence, and any challenges which may require action
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key regional stakeholders
- Working in partnership with other organisations to influence
- Supporting the press and PR team where appropriate on regional issues
- Ensuring insights from patients and healthcare professionals is used effectively in regional influencing work
Experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar role– ideally, policy with a regional/national focus for a health organisationand/or charity, and delivering change
- Previous experience undertakingresearch and analysing data
- Proven ability to write evidence-basedinfluencing material
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and advising on strategies to influence them
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent benefits:
- Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 (Remote) OR£35,000 to £38,000 (if London-based, hybrid)
- 25 days annual leave per year, plus 1day per year worked (up to 30)
