Over recent weeks, the Ellwood Atfield Health and Social Care team has hosted and attended a variety of events covering a range of issues in the health sector. These events included hosting Niall Dickson, CBE, the current CEO of NHS Confederation; the Bio Industry Association’s 2019 Parliamentary day and most recently saw the team attend an evening with the CEO NHS England, Simon Stevens in a joint event with Gilead Sciences who provided an insight into the delivering of the NHS Long Term Plan. These events have seen us meet a wide range of healthcare professionals and gain insight into the state of the industry in 2019.

Drawn up by those on the frontline of health and social care, Simon Stevens gave us an insight into the ambitious but achievable aims of the NHS’ Long Term Plan. From Gilead Sciences, Hilary Hutton-Squire, General Manager and Vice President UK and Ireland, spoke about the recent development of CAR-T and how the Long Term Plan can help deliver care for individuals facing major health problems such as cancer and how innovative health technology such as CAR-T will help deliver on the aims of the Long Term Plan.
