Leading FS organisation seeks talented stakeholder engagement expert to provide interim support.

This high profile, independent financial services body needs to hire an Interim Senior External Affairs Manager to join them ASAP for 12 months. 

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications and with responsibility for overseeing a small team across public affairs and stakeholder engagement, the role will lead on the development and execution of a plan to promote and enhance the reputation of the organisation with its stakeholders, including government regulators, Parliament and Whitehall and key voluntary sector partners. You will oversee external engagement with industry, consumers and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent, managed and integrated approach with consistent messaging. You will also manage and develop the external affairs team effectively, providing strong leadership and strategic guidance. 

Key accountabilities:

- Lead on the development and execution of the strategy and communications programme for engaging all key external stakeholders who have an interest in the organisation's work
- Forge relations with diverse stakeholders across the industry
- Promote awareness of the organisation among parliamentarians and build relationships with legislators and regulators across the UK and in the devolved nations
- Lead on managing the political stakeholder events programme
- Ensure frameworks are in place to share knowledge across the business about key stakeholders and to obtain their input into the organisation's policies and products

Suitable candidates will demonstrate proven stakeholder communications expertise and a comprehensive knowledge of the workings of Westminster, devolved Parliaments and EU institutions. You will have experience in engaging policymakers, think tanks and civil servants. An understanding of the financial services market is preferred, along with an understanding of regulation and public policy.
