Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company that concentrates their research efforts where the most pressing medical needs and public health issues are. With a very exciting pipeline of cardiovascular drugs in development,  they are now seeking a Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy Lead to develop and manage strong and sustainable trusted relationships, and act as lead contact in the UK, with PAGs and other policy stakeholders. These will include:

  • Government Ministers and Civil Servants
  • Elected politicians and political parties
  • National Policy Makers e.g. NHS England
  • Trade Associations e.g. ABPI & BIA
  • Patient Associations/advocates and groups
  • Medical/Scientific Societies
  • NGOs
  • Think tanks
  • Public health foundations
  • Other relevant influencers

Ideally you will have:

  • Broad industry, NHS & political knowledge, an understanding of matrix organizations and the relevant regulatory and compliance environment;
  • Experience working in advocacy, ideally in patient advocacy within a patient association, or the pharmaceutical and consultancy industries.
  • Expertise in communication and Public and/or Government Affairs and/or Patient Advocacy;
  • Influencing and engaging skills; be politically astute; results orientated; able to develop strategic networks and transversal collaboration and challenge the status quo;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills including design, structure and delivery of presentations;
  • Integrity, energy, resilience, entrepreneurship and a patient-centric outlook.
