Opportunity to work on a Megaproject to support Britain's Net Zero goal

The Opportunity

Ellwood Atfield are delighted to partner up with one of the largest megaprojects in the UK, at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. The project will provide low carbon energy to millions of homes for decades- supporting Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We are searching for a Public Affairs Officer, to monitor parliamentary and political activity and maintaining stakeholder contact database, while supporting other team members in a range of public affairs activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring reports are compiled and submitted promptly and accurately, including monitoring of political activity, key events, and weekly activity reports
  • Offering counsel and direction on external communication matters, identifying risks, and taking proactive measures to safeguard the company's reputation
  • Drafting and planning communication materials and briefings on specific topics
  • Assisting in generating social media content for events and public affairs activities.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • A passion for politics is essential, with prior experience in public affairs or Parliamentary
  • Proficiency in communication, particularly in conveying complex subjects to diverse audiences, is key
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, environments with tight deadlines is necessary
  • Experience in the energy sector, particularly in nuclear, would be beneficial.
