As Head of ConsumerCommunications, you will step into a high profile leadership role at a pivotalmoment. The function has recently been reshaped and continues to evolve,creating a genuine opportunity to define its future direction.

You will lead how thebrand shows up in culture, driving creativity, modernising approach, andbuilding stronger in house capability. This is not about maintaining the statusquo. It is about raising ambition, unlocking new ideas, and increasing relevancein a fast moving media landscape.

This is a role with realvisibility, complexity, and scope, offering the opportunity to make a lastingimpact on a nationally significant brand.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the consumer communications function, overseeing a team of around 10 across multiple workstreams
  • Deliver high impact, national storytelling across products, people, and purpose led initiatives
  • Drive a more modern, integrated approach to PR and social, improving creativity and effectiveness
  • Reduce reliance on agencies by building stronger in house capability and ownership
  • Act as a senior strategic partner within the wider communications function
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national media, securing high profile coverage across print, broadcast, and digital
  • Operate at pace, managing multiple priorities while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Lead through change, evolving team structure, capability, and ways of working

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience leading consumer communications within a major, recognisable brand such as retail, FMCG, drinks, or similar
  • Strong track record of delivering high volume, high impact media coverage at a national level
  • Deep understanding of modern PR, including integration across social, digital, and earned media
  • Excellent media relationships across national press and broadcast
  • Creative thinker with strong storytelling instincts and the ability to generate culturally relevant ideas
  • Hands on leadership style with the ability to balance strategy and execution
  • Experience building and leading teams, improving performance, and driving pace
  • Comfortable operating in complex, evolving environments with ambiguity and change
  • Experience managing agencies, with a clear view on when to use them versus in house delivery
