Ellwood Atfield is proud to be partnering with a charity in the disability advocacy space who are looking for a Head of International Communications on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role which will play a key part in optimising engagement with frontline staff and volunteers across the UK.

 

The opportunity

As Head of Internal Communications, you will play a vital role in implementing an inclusive and compelling internal communications strategy, which connects frontline staff to the purpose and mission of the charity; ensuring staff feel valued and informed. You will work in closely with leaders across the organisation, to drive communication with colleagues across the UK.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a small team of internal communications professionals whilst driving performance and professional development.
  • Work alongside leadership team to make sure internal communications approach aligns with the broader strategic aims of the charity.
  • Design a robust internal communications strategy aligned with the organisations, values and transformation priorities.
  • Embed brand identity into internal communications to ensure frontline staff are connected to the charity’s story, mission and values.
  • Collaborate with the external communications and social change teams to create aligned communications plans and ensure staff are informed, motivated and feel empowered in their role as ambassadors.
  • Gather data and insights from colleagues and develop employee feedback mechanisms.
  • Oversee the development of internal communications channels to make sure channels are accessible and reflect the diverse experiences of staff.
  • Lead internal communications planning and delivery for key change and crisis situations.

 

Person Specification

  • Significant demonstrable experience of carrying out an internal communications role within a large, complex and values-driven organisation.
  • Proven record of developing and delivering internal communications strategies to drive engagement, whilst ensuring values and company narrative are embedded.
  • Experience of engaging with staff across the UK.
  • Skilled in communicating and advising senior leaders.
  • Strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
