The opportunity:

The Policy and Public Affairs Lead will lead their policy and public affairs initiatives in Scotland, shaping evidence-based policy positions and delivering influencing strategies to improve outcomes for patients.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policy positions for Scotland, producing high-quality briefings, and reports informed by research and lived experience.
  • Lead public affairs activity to engage decision-makers and stakeholders to achieve policy objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with government, parliamentarians, healthcare professionals, charities, and other partners to advance shared priorities.
  • Provide expert policy advice internally, support campaigns, and represent the organisation in media and external forums.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Experience in policy and/or public affairs, with proven success in driving impactful change in Scotland or across the UK.
  • Ability to develop and implement influencing strategies and stakeholder engagement at a national level.
  • Strong skills in using insight, data, and research to shape evidence-based policy positions and materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Scottish and/or UK political and legislative landscape.
