The Global Infrastructure Investor Association (GIIA) is the leading global body representing private infrastructure investors, fund managers and advisors. Its members manage over $2 trillion across energy, transport, digital and social infrastructure, supporting investment in systems that underpin economic growth, connectivity and the transition to net zero. GIIA operates at the intersection of industry and policy, working with governments and stakeholders to create environments that enable sustainable and resilient infrastructure.

The opportunity

GIIA is seeking a Research & Policy Executive to join its Policy and Public Affairs team, supporting the development of high-quality research and evidence-led policy work. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience across global markets, contributing to work spanning the UK, Europe and the US. The Research & Policy Executive will play a key role in strengthening GIIA’s research capability, supporting policy development and engaging with members on key infrastructure issues.

Main responsibilities

  • Conduct research and data analysis on infrastructure policy, investment and market trends across priority regions
  • Monitor political and policy developments, producing clear insight and summaries for internal and external audiences
  • Support the development of evidence-based policy positions, including drafting briefings, reports and consultation responses
  • Maintain and develop internal datasets and evidence bases, ensuring accuracy and analytical rigour
  • Support member engagement through working groups, research projects and policy-focused events.

Key skills and experience

  • Degree, or equivalent, in politics, economics, international relations or a related field
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information
  • High attention to detail and confidence working with data, including Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in infrastructure, investment and public policy, with an understanding of political and policy processes.
