Ellwood Atfield is thrilled to partner with Alzheimer's Research UK, the leading charity fighting to ensure a cure for dementia whilst championing research to revolutionise the way dementia is diagnosed and treated.
The opportunity:
This is an exciting role at Alzheimer’s Research UK, created at a time when donations from philanthropic partnerships have grown substantially. The Philanthropy and Partnerships directorate has an impressive record of securing seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with noteworthy brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.
The charity is looking to build upon this success and have launched a new fundraising campaign - Roadmap to a Cure - designed to drive further growth and income generation from major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
As a Senior Campaign and Donor Experience Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of the campaign, managing an impressive team of experts across Proposition Management, Stewardship and Prospect Development. You will drive accountability and ambition within the team; working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to lead on the operational aspects of the Appeal and support your team in engaging a wide array of funders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with theDirector of Philanthropy and Partnerships as well as the Heads of CorporatePartnerships and Philanthropy to lead on the implementation of the strategy for the Roadmap to a Cure campaign.
- Create and implement the strategy for the High Value Experience and Development Team.
- Design and review clear KPIs whilst monitoring progress against these to drive accountability and ambition for the campaign.
- Ensure the Philanthropy and Partnerships Directorate has the proper tools to be data driven in its decision making and fundraising.
- Promote a culture of collaboration across the High Value Experience and Development team and other teams across the charity, to develop a culture of innovation, accountability and resourcefulness.
- Line manage three members of staff, including the Donor Relations Manager, Proposition Manager and Prospect Development Manager: coaching and empowering the team to achieve their operational plans and priorities.
- Cultivate strong ties across the charity to ensure all work delivered by the team is informed by strategic and operational decisions and that colleagues provide the information and access required to deliver high quality relationship management, prospect research, stewardship and propositions.
- Lead delivery of the operations elements of the Campaign. Ensure the delivery of a compelling and robust case for support, a suite of impactful fundraising materials, a strong prospect pool, a series of cultivation and stewardship events, and a stewardship matrix which can be flexed to meet the needs of different types of donors.
- Keep up to date with ARUK’s research and other news to be able to engage effectively with supporters, communicating the charity’s key messages both among the team and to key supporters.
Person specification:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of major gift/and or corporate fundraising.
- Knowledge of fundraising appeals and overseeing significant campaign projects.
- Proven record of formulating fundraising strategies, including ensuring the operational success of a significant philanthropic appeal.
- Adept in creating engaging donor-facing materials.
- Experience in conducting prospect research and donor pipeline management.
- Ability to foster strong professional ties and influence senior members of staff.
- Highly motivated and target driven, with an ability to demonstrate a proactive and pragmatic approach and identify ways to deliver creative and innovative solutions.
- Excellent communicator, with an ability to present arguments clearly to a diverse audience and generate a collaborative working environment.
- Experience managing a sizeable team, with an ability to inspire, motivate and challenge team members.
