The Organisation:
London TravelWatch is London’s independent transport watchdog, dedicated to making a positive difference for the travelling public in the capital.  Sponsored and funded by the London Assembly, we are committed to evidence-based advocacy, combining our campaigns, casework and communication activities to achieve impact

The Opportunity:
London TravelWatch is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Communications to lead its communications work. This hands-on role involves developing and implementing communication strategies to promote the work of London TravelWatch, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, and others, to identify key messages and target audiences.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the communications strategy to promote London TravelWatch's work
  • Create compelling content across multiple platforms, enhancing its profile and engagement
  • Build strong media relationships, optimising London TravelWatch’s profile and managing press enquiries
  • Line management of the Communications Officer.

Key Skills and Experience required:

  • Proven experience of developing and implementing communications strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of how communications, including the media, works, particularly in London
  • Experience within the transport sector would be advantageous, but not necessary.
