Seeking a highly creative PR practitioner to work with an international transport business

The opportunity
Are you passionate about bringing people together, supporting businesses, connecting countries?  Looking for a challenge in one of the world’s largest transport groups and a dual-listed company?  In this 6-month contract position you will be responsible for developing and delivering proactive PR campaigns as well as improving the team’s approach to the use of visual media and storytelling.

Main responsibilities

  • Research and bring to life group-wide stories that help tell the story about the strength of the group across three pillars: economic & social contribution; innovation & transformation; and sustainability
  • Lead a project to audit, plan, commission and create a content bank of visual and digital media assets and accompanying stories including photography for the Annual Report
  • Manage the group’s presence and activity at major industry events in the UK including planning, liaison with the organisers and creating the media plan
  • Consult and develop a new social media policy and guidelines working with the Head of Corporate Affairs, Business Services and Ethics & Compliance team
  • Support the Head of UK Communications & Campaigns and Communications Manager with communications materials including press releases, talking points, social media posts.

Key skills and experience required

  • Extensive experience in PR and proactive media relations
  • Experience of working with visual media to tell stories – photography, infographics, video
  • An excellent writer with the ability to break down technical content into simpler, human language
  • Understanding of working within a corporate environment including internal stakeholder management
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to propose and execute strong communications campaigns.
  • Able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines and agreed budgets.

This is a six-month contract to start asap and is offered on either a fixed-term or equivalent day rate business, to start no later than 1st April 2024.
