Ellwood Atfield are excited to be partnered with Kingston University London as they seek a Senior Public Affairs Adviser (Civic) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

They are undergoing a significant period of expansion across their Brand, Communications and Public Affairs Function and this is an excellent opportunity for you to join their award winning and high performing team during a pivotal general election year.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will lead the development of the University’s civic engagement strategy with a particular focus on their high-profile Estates vision as well as broader community engagement, visits, and events. This will include high profile visitors including international, government, and shadow cabinet ministers. You will play a pivotal role is strengthening relationships with external stakeholders from the community including local government, local authority, and strategic partners as well as local stakeholders including  councillors, officers, community groups, and residents.

The Person

You will bring an in-depth knowledge of planning communications and demonstratable experience of working with related stakeholder groups, ideally from the Kingston area. As a confident networker, you will bring strong relationship management skills and have demonstrable experience working  with local stakeholders, including councillors, officers, community groups, and residents.
With a strong writing ability, you will creatively deliver impactful communications that resonates with a variety of target audiences.
You will be comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
The team thrive with face-to-face engagement and relationship building, both internally and externally, and you can expect to be working on campus for a minimum of 3 days per week with flexibility as required for events and visits.
